Ce que j'en pense :
Voici donc, le deuxième tome de cette saga sur les Enchanteurs de Gatlin. Nous retrouvons Lena et Ethan tout de suite après la fin du tome 1, soit après l'anniversaire de Lena et la mort de son oncle Macon. Tout va commencer avec l'enterrement de ce dernier avec le mal-être de Lena puisqu'elle se sent responsable en plus d'être triste de sa perte. Et avouons le, Macon est la figure paternel de Lena, donc le perdre est quelque chose d'atroce.
La chose qui est bien dans cette saga, et dont je n'ai pas parlé la première fois, c'est que l'histoire est racontée du point de vue d'Ethan, et j'avoue ne pas avoir énormément de livre où c'est le garçon qui est le narrateur, c'est souvent la fille. Du coup, c'est un point positif.
Comme j'en parlais avec une autre lectrice, c'est que cette saga a un fort potentiel dans son histoire, mais que c'est pas mal gâché. Alors, oui, on parlait plus du film qui est une vraie catastrophe cinématographique, mais je trouve qu'en livre, c'est pareil. Il y a des explications, des détails, mais alors mon dieu, c'est trop ! J'ai trouvé ce tome d'une longueur, j'avais tellement hâte qu'il finisse. Étant une relecture, je n'avais pas souvenir que c'était comme ça, sachant que j'ai les tomes suivants, mais là, je n'en pouvais plus. Pourtant, je le dis et le redis, cette histoire a un potentiel de fou !
Je trouve qu'il ne se passait pas grand-chose dans ce tome là, mais en plus de ça, quand il y avait quelque chose c'était tellement prévisible (à part une chose, mais on en reparle plus tard), et en plus de ça, c'était limite donné. Je veux dire par là, qu'Ethan et ses amis sont en difficulté ? Oh bah, donnons-leur la réponse toute faite, une autre difficulté ? Eh bien, Amma, sa nourrice, va être là et lui donner un coup de main... Vous voyez, c'est un peu tout ça qui m'a ennuyé, je trouve qu'ils n'ont pas galérés.
Ici, Lena va fuir Ethan et sa famille, car elle pense être vouée aux Ténèbres et ne sera pas Lumière, tout ça, car elle pense qu'elle a tué Macon pour sauver Ethan avec un enchantement qui vient du Livre des Lunes. Elle va fuir pour retrouver un endroit soit disant assez secret, à la limite du mythe (mais trouvé assez facilement, scusez du peu) avec sa cousine Ridley et un inconnu au premier abord, John, qui au final se retrouvera être quelqu'un de sa famille, son oncle, je crois. Elle coupera tout lien avec Ethan, même leur lien où ils se parlent par télépathie. Elle va se plier sur elle-même, mais ce n'est pas pour autant qu'Ethan va la lâcher, il ira dans des endroits dangereux et combattra des Enchanteurs des Ténèbres, Incubes et j'en passe. Il n'ira pas seul car il sera accompagné de son meilleur, Link, et d'une petite nouvelle, Olivia "Liv" qui est apprentie Gardienne.
La finalité de cette histoire est sur le sort de Lena, qui n'a toujours pas choisi son camp, à savoir si elle est Lumière (qui tuera tous les membres de sa famille qui sont Ténèbres) ou bien Ténèbres (qui tuera tous les membres Lumière de sa famille). Choix difficile, car elle aime des membres des deux côtés. Du coup, elle est moitié moitié, et sa mère va convoquer une nouvelle Lune afin qu'elle choisisse, tout en sachant que dans sa tête elle est plus du côté sombre.
Mais vous vous doutez que ça ne sera pas aussi facile que ça. Comment Lena va choisir ? Choisira-t-elle la facilité ? Ethan et ses amis, vont-ils réussir à la sauver ?

We find Lena and Ethan after the end of volume 1 that is after Lena’s birthday and the death of her uncle Macon. It all starts with the funeral of Macon with the ill-being of Lena since she feels responsible in addition to being sad of her loss. And let’s face it, Macon is Lena’s father figure, so losing him is something atrocious.
The thing that’s great and that I didn’t mention the first time is that the story is told from Ethan’s perspective, and I don’t have a lot of books where the boy is the narrator. That's a positive point.
As I was talking to another reader, the story has a lot of potential, but it’s ruined. We were talking more about the movie, which is a real cinematographic catastrophe, but I think the book is the same thing. There are explanations, details, but it’s too much! I was so looking forward to it. I say it again but this story has a crazy potential!
I find that there wasn't enough actions in this volume, but on top of that, when there was something it was predictable (except for one thing, but we’ll talk about it later), and on top of that, all the answers were given. Ethan and his friends are in trouble? Let’s give them the ready answer, another difficulty? Well, Amma, his nanny, is gonna be there and help him out... You see, it’s all that bothered me a little, I find that they don’t have big problems.
Lena will run away from Ethan and her family because she thinks she is doomed to Dark and will not be Light. She thinks she killed Macon to save Ethan with an enchantment that comes from the Book of Moons. She will flee to find a so-called secret place, to the limit of myth (but found quite easily, sorry not sorry) with her cousin Ridley and a stranger, John, who in the end will happen to be someone of her family. She’ll sever any connection to Ethan, even their telepathic connection. She will withdraw on herself, but it isn't so much that Ethan will let go of her, he will go to dangerous places and fight some Enchanters of Darkness, Incubus and so on. He will not go alone because he will be accompanied by his best friend, Link, and a new mate, Olivia "Liv" who is an apprentice Guardian.
The purpose of this story is on the fate of Lena, who still has not chosen her side, whether she is Light (who will kill all the members of her family who are Dark) or Dark (who will kill all the Light members of her family). Difficult choice, as she likes members on both sides. So she’s half a half, and her mother is going to summon a new moon for her to choose, knowing that in her head she’s more on the dark side.
You can imagine that it won’t be that easy. How will Lena choose? Will she choose the easy? Ethan and his friends, will they manage to save her?
